I am a better person--and a better
actress--when I am actively involved in caring for other people.
Thinking about the world and what it is doing and has done to people. I
want always to be open to the experiences of others--to keep my heart
and my brain and my soul active, and then to honor those I've met and
loved by creating characters in their image and for their honor. I could
call this an approach to acting, but I think it is really an approach
to living. Tennessee spoke of being a witness. This is what I think
being a witness means: Observing, loving, helping, sharing.
