Playhouse Creatures: An Artistic Community of Kindness
The corruption of the artist begins when we fail to honor, to notice, to support our fellow artists. It is vital that we craft a community around our efforts, and it is imperative that we be a witness to those around us. We must cultivate an artistic kindness.
Playhouse Creatures has as its mission that they should pursue and explore themes of love and passion, in all its myriad forms, through classical, contemporary, and new works. Playhouse Creatures, under the artistic direction of Joseph W. Rodriguez, is committed to working as an ensemble-based company, producing affordable and relevant theatre. In addition Playhouse Creatures is dedicated to giving back to the communities in which it works and produces. (The current beneficiary of their kindness is Nazareth Housing.)
On Sunday, January 20, 2013, from two p.m. until five p.m., Playhouse Creatures will host a fundraiser for its continuing work that will offer readings and performances dedicated to Tennessee Williams. There will also be food that would have pleased Tenn (prepared by chef Michele Scarano), music, and what Tenn called happy water (Champagne).
Tickets are $40 and can be purchased at the Playhouse Creatures website or at the door of the Greenwich House Music School at 46 Barrow Street.
I have provided the facts, and will allow Playhouse Creatures the opportunity to provide the art, the poetry, and the mingling of like minds.
Won't you join me in supporting this theatre company?
